Here below are the details of the prestigious international Award Honoris Causa Gambrinus Mazzotti that Kuki Gallmann was given unanimously on the occasion of the XXXV edition of the Award in her native Italy.
Below a short translated version of the original longer motivation -from Italian- and a synthesis of the translation of my acceptance speech, which I shall read on phone from Kenya live on the 18th, the evening of the price giving ceremony.
I shall a part write and read a piece about my late Father who inspired my life choices since I when was a child.

Kuki’s acceptance words:
” I am deeply moved and honoured to receive from my native Italy this prestigious recognition for my dedication to Kenya’s Environment and for my work, at this momentous time in my life, and I choose this occasion to renew my untarnished commitment to the environment and to the neighbouring communities of my adoptive Country, my home of 45 years.
I would like to express my gratitude to the Jury, and in particular to my family, to the staff and team of Ol Ari Nyiro, Laikipia Nature Conservancy without whom no achievement would have been possible.
At this difficult time, this is a positive recognition not just for me, but for Kenya, the country I love, where I have lived for 45 years, to which I owe my inspiration and to the conservation of the Nature of which I have dedicated all my life.
I wish to take this opportunity to reiterate my loyalty to Kenya and to all the inhabitants of my home in Laikipia.
In hope of lasting Peace between People and People and People and Nature.
Bless you all.
Please help us fund the rebuilding and maintaining of vital conservation infrastructure on Kuki’s Laikipia Nature Conservancy and equip the outstanding team of rangers with everything they need to continue to protect and monitor the unique Biodiversity of Ol Ari Nyiro, assist our neighbouring communities and support our re-forestation project to combat global warming by planting more indigenous trees.
