“Remember me when I am gone away,
gone far away into the silent land”
“It was Nature that broke the terrible silence.
The buzz of invisible insects drunken with life dancing in the sun, the song of invisible birds, a close elephant trumpeting, entered the astonished silence of the irrevocable finality of the mystery of death.
It was Nature with fingers of wind that caressed my face, the warm touch of April’s breath that stirred my hair, the trees with their frail, varied leaves, the clouds ever moving.
It was birds chattering, insects buzzing and the running clear springs along the secret paths he would no longer tread.
It was Nature alive, Nature vibrant all around me, and She had survived him.
Was Nature The Secret?”
