Emanuele Pirri-Gallmann – 12-4-2020

Emanuele Pirri-Gallmann

Venezia 7 January 1966 – Laikipia Kenya 12 April 1983

Kuti 12 April 2020
37 years later

“Remember me when I am gone away
Gone far away into the silent land.”

I have searched for words to tell you Emanuele, and I found none, but
“THANK YOU”

Thank you because you taught me
How to talk to you with no words
How to listen to your wordless voice
How to communicate without the body

Thank you because you taught me
What freedom is
Setting me free from any further fear
And that, as sure
As we sleep after every day
We die after every life
To be born again and again
Until we know enough:

Perhaps you did.

From the dry caterpillar a butterfly
From the dried seed a plant
From the cracked egg a bird
From a dead body a life :

It is only another stage.

Because there is no life without a death
No growth without change
No happiness without grief.

Thank you
Because by living and dying
You helped me to grow.

Even stars die, yet we still see their light
The cloud you were
Has now become the sky.

You ARE for ever.

Mamma

“Nothing was born
Nothing will die
All things will change”

Alfred Lord Tennyson

Please help us with the ongoing rebuilding and the maintaining of vital conservation infrastructure on Laikipia Nature Conservancy, while supporting our philanthropic work of education and scholarships, community support, assistance to neighbours, public health, food drought relief, water, road building and maintenance.

And of course continuing to equip the outstanding team of rangers with uniforms, transport, binoculars, infrared cameras and everything they need to continue to protect and monitor the unique Biodiversity of Ol Ari Nyiro, and also support our ongoing re-forestation project to combat global warming by planting more and more indigenous trees.

With your help we can secure Kuki’s vision and legacy in perpetuity.

Dear Ms. Gullman – God chose to connect us today. I watched I dreamed of Africa for probably the 10th time unbeknownst to me on the anniversary of your son’s death. I grieve with you, as a mother, but I celebrate your love for Africa, the home of my ancestors and the place I hope to return one day. I hope you continue to live in good health and in meaningful ways. Your impact has helped sustain the Motherland. Agape.

    Sincerely,
    Kimberly Y. Campbell, Ph.D.
