MAJI YA NYOKA
The air was hot and still
The path was silent
To the ruins I walked alone.
A step at the time
grey carpet of ashes
Impalpable
lifting and resettling
The chimneys stood
tall blackened incongruous
accusing fingers
Pointed to the sky.
I found my rock, sat on it
And thought a long time.
Amongst the ashes intact
was a pot,
a snake twisted around it.
I had it made over twenty years ago
for the Retreat- and it survived it.
I set it on the platform on the view:
Emanuele had sent a sign: He always does – I will rebuild the Mukutan Retreat.
